![]() Algae blooms are occasionally severe, impacting recreational use. Peltier Lake, located in the cities of Centerville and Lino Lakes, regularly experiences summer algae blooms. Winter lake travelers should heed warning signs, and not approach the aerators - thin ice is likely in this area.ĪTV users are reminded that traveling on unfrozen areas of the lake is prohibited by State Law (MS 84.773). As in past years, Anoka County Parks will operate an aerator on the west side of the lake during winter months to protect the fishery from winterkill. However, the Anoka County Parks boat launch will likely close in late September due to low water levels. Peltier Lake remains open for fishing during the drawdown. The project is intended to reduce invasive curlyleaf pondweed and improve water clarity. Water levels will return to normal after ice-out in the spring of 2018. At it lowest, water levels will be approximately 3 feet below normal. Water levels will recede slowly during the drawdown - approximately 1 inch per day. The drawdown will begin on Septemand continue through the winter of 2017/18. The Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) is conducting a temporary water level drawdown on Peltier Lake. ![]() Aquatic plant and water quality monitoring will proceed during the summer of 2018. Water levels should return to normal before the end of April.
